Most of us gym rats, I guess Im a gym rat, have injuries that we work through.
Myself I have smashed my right hand. Severed most of the tendons in it but didnt break any bones, I guess that was lucky. I have always been a repairman and was working as a heavy equipment mechanic at the time. We were replaceing a valve control body on a Michigan 475 end loader. It was just one of those things that happens but it took me six months and 2 surgeries to regain use of my hand. They say I have regained 98% of the use of it. All I can say is that it wont close all the way and sometimes I drop stuff but thats all.
Then in '06 I had a head injury and was very nearly killed. I was in a coma for a while and dont remember about 3 or 4 days. My family sayes that I was awake and being bad during that time but I dont remember any of it. I was so far gone all the company people, that could, were at the hospital waiting for me to die. The neurosurgeon who did surgery on me said that I would have died if I had arrived at the hospital 10 or 15 minutes later. Due to a lot of prayer and my recovery ability, from working out I guess, I was out of the hospital in a week and back to work in 2 months. I have a dent in the left rear of my scull and sometimes I loose words but thats all. Oh and I always reread my posts to make sure that they make sense. My memory in some places is like swiss cheese so Ive been filling in all the gaps. My goal is to be better than I was before the last accident. Anger is the number one side effect of a bad injury like that and I have decided that thats not me so I refuse to get mad unless its really necessary. So I just dont get mad anymore. That requires a lot of work but its worth it.
The up side is that even after all that Im still in the gym lifting and my wife sayes that Ill probably die there. She might be right. Every day Im more like the ME that I remember and my wife sayes that she can see all the work I do to be me and really likes the improvement. Everyone needs someone like her, Ive been married to her 25 years and she is the only woman that I wanted to keep. Yep, a real keeper.
What does that have to do with the weather? Heck if I know. Think it might rain today, hows that. . . . . . . . . . .Red
