As soon as I try to visualize my workout, I feel my motivation just ebbing. I prefer to just go and then decide which bodyparts I'm going to work. By thinking too much about it, I start over-analizing things and by the time I get to the gym, I feel the pressure to get everything done on target. Easier to let it flow. I get a better workout and tend to hit the weights with more determination and also harder/longer

I only visualize just before the lift, I see the weight moving and the muscles that are used to move it, then I lift. This has helped me for over 35 years.

I to do it right before the lift....If you do it before then you can get side tracked when it comes time to actually lift...

The only visualization I do in connection to working out is getting into my gym clothes and heading out the door. I love working out, but it's the getting there. So I'll "see" myself at the gym(albeit I'm still home) and getting a really good workout. Works 98% of the time
